Located on Highway 10, 70 minutes north of Toronto, just halfway between Markdale and Flesherton, Primeridge Pure can be found. The dairy farm was purchased in January 2008 and we haven’t looked back since! Upgrades and modifications happen regularly as we continue to progress Primeridge into a self-sustaining farm.
We hope to have Primeridge Pure up and fully running by this Summer 2011. We have developed the dairy to diversify our small farm and add on-farm value to the milk we produce.
Artisan cheese practices are followed by the certified cheesemaker. These methods are very hands on and follow traditional methods of cheesemaking. Pure cheese is truly a work of art.
We, Scott and Steacy den Haan are young dairy farmers from Grey County! Scott is the manager of the Primeridge Holsteins herd and daily farm operations. Steacy manages Primeridge Pure and is a certified artisan cheesemaker.
The den Haan family has passed on the tradition of dairy farming for generations. It is the heart of our farm and reflected through the care and pride of Primeridge. The Cook family also has farming roots. The original homestead was a dairy farm for many years and included a creamery.
